Possible plan for a Long Distance Cycling Training Camp.

 

Saturday:

  • Arrive at Hotel Mas Pelegri. Welcome. Lunch. Chance to build bikes or be fitted to your rental bike. Bike fit session if required. Then an easy 1 hour ride followed by an optional swim workout in the onsite 25 metre pool. Welcome drink and time to go over the planned weeks training. Freshly cook 3 course dinner at Hotel Mas Pelegri.

Sunday:

  • 1 hour technique swim in the on site 25m pool before enjoying a technique run workout working on breathing, climbing and descending. Lunch at Hotel Mas Pelegri. 1 hour technique bike, covering power drills, cornering, descending, climbing, pedaling efficiency and maintaining momentum. A chance to relax by the pool before enjoying a freshly cooked dinner at Hotel Mas Pelegri.

Monday:

  • Great training ride on rolling and flatter roads. Chance for a swim in the Med, so wear your trisuit, before going back to Hotel Mas Pelegri via a different route. The ride will be followed directly by a transition run. Dinner at Hotel Mas Pelegri.

Tuesday:

  • Technique swim in the pool at Hotel Mas Pelegri, followed by long ride to the Cap de Creus and Cadaques through the wine and olive oil growing region of the Alt Emporda. This is a long and hilly day with stunning vistas. Arrive back at Hotel Mas Pelegri for an optional massage or relax before enjoying a freshly cooked evening dinner. .

Wednesday:

  • Open water swim in the beautiful acquifer fed lake of Banyoles, followed directly by 2 hour ride into the Volcanic national park. Lunch at Hotel Mas Pelegri, before a neurophysiology training session, rollering or optional massage. Evening out in the city of Girona.

Thursday:

  • Ride to Castellfollit de la Roca, perched on a granite cliff face, before turning north into the high Pyrenees and to the mountain town of Camprodon. You have the option to climb to over 2000m to the ski station of Valter, or up to the French border at 16650m. Everything is customised to your required training. Upon returning to Hotel Mas Pelegri enjoy a transition run before a relaxing massage or dip in the pool. Enjoy a freshly cooked dinner at the Hotel.

Friday:

  • Technique swim in the on site 25 metre pool followed by a long run to the lake of Banyoles. Optional afternoon ride around the land of the lake before retuning to Hotel Mas Pelegri for an optional massage, dip in the pool and a freshly cooked evening dinner.

Saturday:

  • Optional technique swim or coached core strength and balance training sessions in the gym before your departure to  Barcelona or Girona airports for your flight home.
